Subject: Fortune Tellers are Dangerous to Your Health

Dear Ethan & Emily:

Well, it’s back to the routine after a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.  It was so good to spend it with you and the rest of Marilyn’s family.  While we were flying, I jotted down notes from my Bible readings so I had several new things to share with you.

As a follow up to one of my memos earlier this month on fortune tellers, horoscopes, astrology, tarot cards, witchcraft, and everything so related, I came across a passage I had earlier been looking for concerning Saul’s use of a medium toward the end of his life seeking advice from Samuel who had earlier died (1 Samuel 28: 7-25).

Later in a Chronicles 10: 13, the following sad summary of Saul’s life reports:  “So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord.  He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium instead of asking the Lord for guidance.”

Now, if this is important enough to get this kind of notice and had these consequences, I think it best we as Christians avoid having anything to do with these kinds of activities….period!  That settles it for me…I hope for you also.

God wants us to place our full trust in Him…daily.  Do so and be blessed today.
