Subject: Get Rid of the Static

Good Morning Ethan & Emily:

God is always attentive to the prayers of a sinner who cries out to Him for salvation..BUT for the Christian, unconfessed sin blocks and hinders our communication with Him.

In Psalms 66: 18, we read:  “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, my Lord would not have listened.”  And one of the most quoted verses in the Old Testament reminds us that God has promised that “…if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.”  2 chronicles 7: 14.

I try to keep on guard during the day to confess sin as I am aware of it.  This renews and restores fellowship with the Lord and clears out the “static” in the line of my communication with Him.  One of the verses in the Bible I quote and utilize more than any other is 1 John 1: 9:  “…if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.”

It is important to me that I have a good “connection” to the Almighty…free and clear of “sin static,” so that not only can I enjoy the blessings of hearing His words of encouragement and support during the day…but also so that in times of trouble, I can make my requests quickly without any interference and clearly hear His response.

What about you?  Do you have a free and clear spiritual connection?  If not, take the time to confess you sins and get rid of the static.

Have a great day.

Sending my love,

Dad
