Subject: The Apple of Your Eye

Good Morning Ethan & Emily:

Just a quick and wonderful admonition from Proverbs this morning about the value we should place on all of God’s words and commands:

“…always treasure my commands.  Obey them and live!  Guard my teachings as your most precious possession.” (Prov.7:1-2)

Just think of something you really treasure.  Do you value the Word of God as much or more?

As you go through life, there is “living” and then there is real “living.”  When we obey and treasure God’s Word and follow His direction in our lives, we “live” life as God meant it to be…to its fullest and best.  Don’t settle for anything less!

And, my favorite part of this passage is the ending…where we are challenged to value God’s teachings as our “most precious possession.”

The NIV uses the phrase: “…guard God’s teachings as the ‘apple of your eye.'”

Both phrases say it so well and may it always be a standard you keep before you as a barometer of the value you place on God’s Word.

For physical…and spiritual health…think “apples’!
